Backyard Casitas

A casita (or “little house” in Spanish) is an independent structure that stands on its own in a residential area but is built behind the main house and contains a path leading to and from the main house. It can be used for many purposes, including as an in-law suite, vacation rental, hobby room, or office space. The size of the casita will vary depending on your property and needs but typically ranges from 300-700 square feet. Depending on local zoning regulations, it may even be possible to rent out the casita as an independent living space.
